Tour Overview – Natural and Historical Highlights of the Black Sea

Start your day with a guided tour to one of the Black Sea’s most iconic landmarks: Sumela Monastery. Before arriving at the monastery’s parking area, enjoy a scenic 45-minute ride through lush valleys and forested mountains, filled with cultural and natural insights from your guide.

Upon arrival, take a short shuttle ride followed by a 10-minute walk to reach the legendary cliffside monastery. Explore the site and learn about its historical and religious importance as you take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding national park.

Next, continue your journey to the Zigana Mountain Summit, located at an altitude of 2000 meters. Be amazed by the vast mountain scenery and take a break to enjoy a light lunch (optional) while soaking in the crisp mountain air.

Our route then takes us to Gümüşhane, where you’ll visit local shops known for their pestil and köme, traditional dried fruit delicacies. We follow the historic Silk Road route to the quaint village of Hamsiköy, famous for its creamy rice pudding (sütlaç) — a must-try in its hometown.

As the day continues, we visit the Torul Glass Terrace, suspended at a height of 240 meters, offering panoramic views of the valley below — perfect for photos.

We end the tour with a visit to the stunning Karaca Cave (note: may be temporarily closed in winter). Known for its rich formations of stalactites, stalagmites, and colorful travertines, it is considered one of the most beautiful and healthiest caves in the country.
